Managing assets efficiently is crucial for businesses of all sizes. itemit, an advanced asset tracking system, simplifies asset management by allowing users to tag, scan, and monitor assets effortlessly.
Please note: tagging is only available in the itemit iOS and Android mobile apps currently but it is coming soon to the web portal!
Option 1: Tagging an Existing Asset
If you have already added an asset to the system and wish to tag it, follow these steps:
From the "items" tab, select "Untagged" to view the full list of your untagged assets.
2. Select the untagged assets you would like to tag.
3. Scroll down and locate the "Tags" section and click on the "Add" button to assign a tag.
4. The app will launch your camera. Hold your phone over the tag to scan it.
6. A confirmation pop-up will appear—tap "OK" to complete the process.
7. Once you've tagged your asset, every time this tag is scanned again, itemit will direct you to that asset's profile page. Every time you scan an asset's tag, you'll also see the last seen location updating, confirming who scanned it, where and when.
Option 2: Tagging a New Asset
If the asset has not yet been added to itemit, you can create a new item and tag it at the same time.
Click the "Scan" button on the dashboard (Located at the top left or the center of the bottom menu)
2. The app will open your camera. Simply hold your phone over the tag to scan it.
3. When prompted, click "Create New Item" and the new asset will be automatically created and tagged.
4. After scanning, you will be taken to the asset's profile page, where you can view and edit your asset details.
5. Scroll down, and you'll be able to view the tag details under the "Tags" section.
6. Each time an asset tag is scanned, the system updates the last seen location automatically, ensuring real-time tracking across your organisation.
