Understanding Users and Contacts in itemit
In itemit, there are two types of profiles: Users and Contacts. While both can be linked to assets, they serve different purposes in the system.
What Are Users?
Users are individuals who have access to the itemit system. Each user has:
A unique login and email address linked to their account.
The ability to receive email notifications, such as booking reminders or asset updates.
Since users can log into itemit, they can actively manage and track assets within the system.
What Are Contacts?
Contacts, on the other hand, are used to record individuals who have assets but do not have system access. Unlike users, contacts:
Do not have a linked email address.
Cannot log into itemit.
Will not receive emails or notifications.

Steps to Add a Contact in itemit web portal:
From "Users tab", click "Contacts", then tap the "Add Contact" button on top right corner to create a new contact.
Fill up your contact details. You can add your contact one at a time or paste a list to add multiple contacts at once. (bulk contacts)
Steps to Add a Contact in itemit mobile app:
To add a contact using the mobile app, simply click on the "Organise" tab
Navigate to "Contacts"
Click the "Add" button located on the top right
Enter the name, click "Save," and you're all set!
