This is typically used for IT assets that are given to team members for the entire duration of their employment. If a user leaves the organisation, you can easily generate a report of all the assets assigned to them and ensure they are returned.

On the other hand, booking out assets is for more temporary transfers of ownership or responsibility. This method comes with an end date, making it clear when the asset is to be returned.
