There are five different roles; owner, admin, standard, view scan comment and scan only.

Owner

An owner is the person who created the workspace and has full rights

Admin

The only difference between an owner and an admin is that an owner can change workspace name where an admin cannot

Standard

A standard user cannot:

  • View/manage users

  • View/manage value

  • Archive assets

  • Manage other users Bookings & Check-outs (unless the Setting 'Standard Users Management for Bookings) is enabled

View Scan Comment

View Scan Comment (VSC) users have a very limited view of the web portal.

A VSC user cannot:

  • View/manage reports

  • View/manage bookings (other than their own)

  • View/manage devices

  • Add/manage parent/child assets

  • Add/manage/dismiss reminders

  • Add/manage locations

  • Add/manage collections

  • Add/manage information

Anything a VSC user can add/manage, they can also view.

A VSC user can:

  • Add issues but not manage them

  • Add comments but not manage them

Scan only

Scan only users only have access to the itemit app. These users can only view asset information when they scan an assets tag.

A scan only user can:

  • View hierarchical location (within the asset profile only)

  • View collections (within the asset profile only)

  • View/add issues

  • View inventory but not manage it

  • View attachments but not add them

  • View/add comments

All user permissions have more rights than the permission beneath them. For example, if a standard user cannot archive an asset, it also means that a VSC and a scan only user cannot.
